Interaction of Human Communities and the Environment in Europe

Hi!

My name is Matúš Jelen. I live in a small, but beautiful village in Slovakia called Važec. The village is in the north of Slovakia, under the High Tatras. There is the Važec Cave, too.
I live with my family in a house. My family is my mother and father of course, my grandmother and I have a younger brother called Peter, he is 16 years old. He studies at the grammar school. My mother is a teacher and father works for the environment office.

So, now something about me: I am 17 years old, I am of medium height. I have short brown hair and blue eyes. I wear glasses.

In my opinion I am a little bit introvert, but I have a lot of friends and I am very happy and satisfied when I can be with them. We are quite a good team in the classroom.

In my free time I practise sport, read books and listen to music. I play football and hockey. I don’t do it professionally, but for fun and pleasure from physical activity. When I went to elementary school I used to ski cross-country, but I don’t do it now. I like reading different books, but my favourite genres are adventurous and criminal, I don’t like romantic book, it’s too boring for me. When I am at home, a radio is still turned on. I like listening to music very much. I like metal music (band as Slayer, Sepultura...). And, I have almost forgotten, I am very interested in computers. I like playing PC games, chatting on Internet and other activities linked with PC.

I study at secondary school. It’s a chemistry school. My favourite subjects are chemistry and Slovak language. I hate economy. My marks are, I think, good. I try to be good, because I want to study at the university.
I started with Globe programme this year. I had heard about it at school and then I started going to the meetings. It was very interesting and big, new experience for me, because I can find new friends and practise English language.

So it is all about my lifestyle and me. Now I have to go.

                            Bye, Matthew.
